Question: I just painted my walls. How long should I wait before applying my new decals?

First, it depends on what type of color you used. The curing of latex paints lasts up to 30 days. However, we have applied wall stickers to walls that have been painted less than a week. In our professional opinion, however, it is better to wait 30 days.

On the other hand, if you use an oil paint (no longer common in most areas today), you can apply vinyl graphics or decals or stickers within a week, as the oil paints will dry from the outside in.

When producing signs with vinyl letters and logos, we always use oil paints as they last longer. However, if you put wall stickers in your home or business on a wall, you will incredibly often use oil-based paints today.

So while you have to stick your vinyl wall sticker on your latex-painted wall a week after painting (yes, we know it's hard to wait!), It's ideal to wait a full 30 minutes days.

Question: Can I reuse wall decals after removing them from the wall?

Wall tattoos may not be reused if the vinyl used is very thin.

However, the use of thin vinyl does not mean that they are of low quality. Note that we do not sell this brand of decals, but we will vouch for the better the quality, the thinner the vinyl is. They probably use "cast" vinyl that does not shrink like "calendered" vinyl.

If you remove a wall sticker, in most cases you will stretch the material, reducing the adhesion of the stretched material. If you place it on a textured wall, it often raises color stains and gypsum when you remove the sticker, which also reduces the adhesion of the vinyl.

In general, vinyl decals are rarely reusable. If you receive a removable sticker or static adhesive sticker, it may be removed and reused to some extent, although adhesion tends to decrease after initial use.

Static liabilities

Static adhesive decals lose their elasticity over time. The thinner the static adherent material, the more likely it is to lose the ability to be reapplied. Use static-adhering materials softener to get a soft and supple surface that sticks to glass, acrylic or very smooth painted surfaces. Over time, static-adhering material loses its smoothness and thus its reusability.

Repositionable decals

On the other hand , repositionable Sticker adhesives are also available. The degree of removability varies between 6 months and 3 years. Some decals are for indoor use only, others for both. Of course, any sticker that can be used outdoors can also be used indoors.
