There is no doubt that the right lighting in a room is very important, regardless of whether the room is used for sleeping, relaxing, working or for pursuing favorite hobbies. Regardless of task, activity or purpose, good lighting design can enhance the functionality of a room, as well as the overall design and decor, by creating and amplifying lighting moods. Floor lamps have a big advantage over many other types of lights and lamps because they are portable.

For many types of lighting fixtures, z. B. recessed lights, chandeliers, wall lights and wall lights, the lighting is permanently available after the installation of the lamp. Even with rail lighting, which is so popular because the permanent lighting is still adjustable, there are still limitations. In addition, there are the additional costs and expense of proper installation of these modern lights, which often require the expertise of an electrician or at least a handy and experienced handyman.

One of the great features of floor lamps is that they can be easily brought into different areas of a room and amplify the lighting exactly where it's most needed. With a floor corner, a dark corner can be brightened quickly, without worrying about the right furniture to set up, as you would need if you were using table furniture to amplify the lighting.

Often both table lamps are used in conjunction with matching floor lamps to ensure complete coverage of a room. The table lamps provide focused light for reading and talking, while the floor lamp lights often provide more ambient light. There are now many manufacturers of luminaires that produce lamp sets that contain one or two table lamps and a floor lamp in a coordinating style.

One thing that should be considered in the first place when choosing a floor lamp is safety. Not so long ago this kind of lamp was considered quite dangerous as it could easily tip over. However, over the past decade, lighting design manufacturers have succeeded in improving the design of these popular lamp types.

Today, all floor lamps sold in the US must meet UL's "Tipping" requirements. This UL certification shows that the floor has a base that is heavy enough to minimize the risk of the lamp accidentally falling over. This, in turn, reduces the likelihood of damage to the lamp due to falls and injuries to nearby people, as well as electric shocks or fires that can be caused by a hot floor lamp tipping over.

When it comes time to buy floor lamps to enhance the lighting design in every room of your home, from the living room to the work area to the bedroom, you will come across a variety of styles and designs to choose from. With such a large selection, finding a floor lamp that fits in any room and improves the lighting in the area should not be difficult.
